Inkbit Wild Ones

4,444 tribespeople in ten tribes. They made the first ink.

WHERE THEY CAME FROM

Far east, past the Danger Zone, lies an island no map-maker ever finished. Long before the printer woke up in 1999, its people were grinding charcoal, red clay, berries and bone into ink and painting on the walls of their caves.

Every pixel in the Kingdom traces back to those cave walls.

WHO THEY ARE

The Wild Ones live as ten tribes, each keeping one colour of the First Ink: Ash, Stone, River, Antler, Tusk, Moss, Ember, Bone, Moon and Thunder.

They are ruled by one Supreme Chief, The First Flame, with ten Tribe Chiefs, twenty Advisors, a Council of one hundred and four hundred Band Leaders.

WHAT THEY DO

They guard the recipe for Pure Ink, the ink every other colour was mixed from. Only The First Flame knows it all. And they have never let an outsider onto their island. Until now.

The Kingdom at a glance

Oct 30, 2026
The Kingdom at a glance

The Arena is the talk of the Kingdom: Fighter tickets now change hands at around $0.54, the highest floor of any district. Press Cards hold at $0.30 even after a 32% dip, and the Apes reprint opened at $0.22.

The Wild Ones remain the busiest market, with about $16 traded since the boats stopped running and 1,473 households holding a tribesperson. World citizens are settling into the new government at $0.03 a seat, and Pet adoptions sit at $0.04 across 1,239 homes.

Prices are in US dollars as shown on OpenSea, and they move every hour. This is a newspaper, not financial advice.

All 4,444 Wild Ones have been claimed, a day before the boats were due to stop running. They went to 1,472 different households across the Kingdom, and the trading posts on Ink Street have been busy ever since.

Brokers on the Tribe Desk report a steady queue of buyers since the gates closed: well over a hundred Wild Ones changed hands in the first day, and the cheapest one on offer has nearly doubled in price since yesterday. The busiest buyers came back again and again, picking up three or four tribespeople at a time.

Nobody knows yet who holds the Supreme Chief or the ten Tribe Chiefs. That stays sealed until the reveal.

A Whale was seen scooping the dip. With a spoon.

Traders on the Tribe Desk report that a broker in a full Whale suit spent the morning buying every red candle in sight, using an actual spoon.

Asked what he was buying, the Whale said only two words: "Pure Ink."

Explorers return from the Uncharted Isle

A boat came back from the far east of the map this week, carrying sketches of an island nobody ever finished drawing: volcanoes, caves, campfires and ten tribes.

The explorers say the islanders call themselves the Wild Ones, and that they made the very first ink. If that's true, they may also know how to make Pure Ink, the only rumoured cure for Inkrot.

Missing person

Where is the Ink Chemist?

Where is the Ink Chemist?

The Ink Chemist, the ape on Press Card 07, hasn't been seen at the print shop in days. The lab was left open, with blue ink drops leading to the harbour.

A ticket seller says the Chemist bought a single boat ticket, heading east. Towards the Uncharted Isle.
